Financing is the most common of the possible ways to tackle the investment required when buying a vehicle as it allows the total amount to be divided into instalments, making it easier to pay the full amount. Usually it consists of paying a deposit and then, month after month, paying the instalments plus interest as they become due. Such financing can be arranged via loans from a bank or building society, or via the manufacturers’ own financing companies.
Leasing
This option for professionals and companies consists in paying a monthly fee for using the vehicle but assuming responsibility for the cost of any repairs that may be required.
It is intended for medium- to long-term projects, with a minimum contract term of two years.
When the leasing contract expires, you can:
- Return the vehicle
- Extend the current contract
- Finalise purchase of the vehicle
Renting
Renting is an all-inclusive option because the monthly rental fee entitles you to enjoy a new vehicle and not worry about the cost or inconvenience of maintaining the vehicle, paying council taxes, comprehensive insurance coverage, roadside assistance, etc.
These contracts have no minimum term because it is an option that adapts to the needs and budget of the company or individual, although the main goal is to enable the vehicle to be swapped for a new one every three or four years.
When the renting contract expires, you can:
- Return the vehicle and, if you so wish, sign a new contract for a different vehicle
- Extend the term of the contract
